Inclusion
Head of Department
Mr Roger Taylor BEd.(Loughborough)
We are an inclusive school and accept students who require learning support. Students in need of additional help are often identified when they complete the College's assessment process on entry, however it can be the case that students are identified as needing additional help at any time during their time with us.
Learning support is provided by the Inclusion team at the College led by Mr Taylor, Assistant Headteacher and supported co-ordinators: Mr Cox (Lower School) and Mr Mear (Upper School). Learning support is principally provided for students with specific learning difficulties e.g. dyslexia or English as an Additional Language. Support can include withdrawal from lessons for one-to-one assistance or in-class support. Many supported children have a PET (Personal Education Target) plan drawn up by the College.
Learning support is provided free of charge by the College for all students identified as needing additional assistance. However, additional cost may be incurred by parents if a private referral to an Education Psychologist for assessment is agreed or requested.
For further advice please contact the Headteacher. Our Inclusion-SEN Policy found under Policies in the About Us section of this website.
