Admissions Policy

Preparatory and Junior School

Entry into the Lower School is by informal assessment. Pupils wishing to join the school during Key Stages 1 and 2 are invited to spend time with the class, during which their social, literacy and numeracy skills are informally assessed by the class teacher.

Senior School

Entry at 11+ will be based upon a written examination consisting of papers in English and Mathematics.

Examination papers will be drawn from areas covered by the National Curriculum at Key Stage 2. No special coaching is required and past papers are not available; all candidates of primary school age should have covered the content of the examinations and developed the skills needed.

Entry at 13+ will follow a similar procedure, and the papers will be correspondingly targeted at National Curriculum, Key Stage 3.

Families who are interested in a place for their child at Cranbrook College should send a completed registration form and £50 registration fee to the school Registrar, Vesna Mackay, who will then send out further information regarding these assessments.  Entry into the College is subject to verification of date of birth and a satisfactory report from the child's current school.
