Monday 17th May - Friday 21st May is National Walk to School Week.
School Travel Plan & Walk to School Week
The school council have come up with ideas and during the week 17-21 May we will be doing a number of activities.
The boys will be outside school all next week reminding parents about reducing congestion in Mansfield Road;
- Can you park in an adjacent street and walk part of the way?
- Think of the health benefits.
I hope everyone will try and leave the car at home and walk, cycle or use public transport for that week.

Please encourage your son to cycle next week.
Below are some poems written about walking to school and the school travel plan.

Walk to School
Walk to school Don’t be a fool Walking is for free You be a part of the eco community So walk to school Don’t be a fool Walk with your mates Don’t be a fool Walk to school

As I walked to school I walked past the trees The flowers, the birds and the bumble bees
As I walked to school The Sun shone bright It was a warm summer’s morning Filled me with delight
As I walked to school It made me feel good I was helping the planet In the best way I could
As I walked to school A car drove passed Beeping and going really fast

When I went to the park I saw a lark in the dark. I see a bee in a very big tree. I saw the grass and went past But came last. I heard a bird singing loudly I saw a log with a frog and a dog on it! I shout when I am about I heard a quack and a crack

As I walked to school What did I see? My best friends Laughing with me
So when I walk to school And walk past the trees I think you should come And walk with me.

When I went to the park I saw a lark in the dark. I see a bee in the big oak tree. The dog flew past It was fast but I was last! I saw a bird I heard it tweet. A bird in the lake made a nest. Look at the swan.
