This unit develops geographical ideas and skills by studying our own locality.  

We answer these questions:

• Where is Ilford in relation to other places? Where is our school?
• What is Ilford like?
• What are the main land uses in Ilford?
• What jobs do people do? How do they get to work? What services does Ilford provide?
• What changes have taken place in Ilford?

Weather around the World

This is unit helps children to develop ideas about weather conditions around the world. The focus is the relationship between weather and tourism.

We answer these questions:

• Why do people go on holiday? Where have we been on holiday?
• Where are hot and cold places located on a world map?
• Where can we go on holiday? How will we get there?
• What is the place like? How is it similar to, and different from, our locality?
• What will the weather be like? How will it affect what we do?
