Water
Art in Year 5 provides a valuable opportunity to expand on our utilisation of cross curricular learning. Children are encouraged to explore the connection between subjects with complementary knowledge, skills and understanding. This unit links with the Geography topic on water supply around the world. Children make use of different media such as water, sand, paint and textiles to create various art work which represent sources of water and its usage.
Tudors
This cross curricular unit links with the children’s work in History enabling them to consider the wider aspects of day to day life in Tudor England. Children study paintings of the period, recreating them using different types of media and analyse their impact. Their studies culminate in a group modelling project in which they recreate a Tudor street scene.
